Our club actively
encourages members to pursue all phases of dog training. This
includes breed, obedience, tracking, field and agility competitions.
While primarily an obedience club, we believe that a dog with titles
at both ends of his name is a well-rounded dog.
Current Members
Sandy and Rich Rohrbacher
are founding members of NWNJDTC and have owned and trained dogs
since 1977. They have trained American cocker spaniels and Welsh
springer spaniels to advanced obedience and Rally titles. They are nationally
known breeders of WSS and they have bred Best in Show and Specialty
winners, and a number of Group placing dogs. Sandy enjoys working
her dogs in the field, training for Rally Obedience, and promoting
Judge's Education by working as an approved AKC breed mentor and presenting seminars for AKC judges about Welsh
springers. Both Sandy and Rich have been
instructors for NWNJDTC for many years. Together, they have produced 25 AKC champions since they began breeding in 1987. Sandy
and Rich finished their latest champion Rysan's Road To Garnant in
2007, and have three major-pointed puppies ready to finish in 2008.
Diane Edgett began in
dogs as a Seeing Eye Puppy Raiser at the age of 12. Since then she
has been active in Collie Rescue, Obedience training and most
recently Breed Comformation with her Welsh Springer Spaniels. She
earned her first Novice obedience title on her rescue collie Tye, in
1994. Her first show dog, Dylan, aka, Ch. Rysan's Leap of Faith, who
she co-owns with Sandy Rohrbacher, ended his active show career as
the #5 WSS for 2000. Diane has been both an assistant instructor and
instructor for the Puppy Beginner, Beginner and Novice level
classes. Her Welsh springer spaniel "Colin" (Edgemoor's
Stardust earned his Championship at the Labor Day Newton Kennel Club
show in 2006. This is Edgemoor's first home-bred Champion.
Peggy Meakin
trains and
owner-handles her Brittanys
to Breed, Obedience,
Rally and Hunting titles. In 2007 she owner handled her dog to the
Rally RAE award, qualifying 10 times in Advanced and Excellent Rally
trials.
Carol
Lewinski
has been a long-term
member of the club training her Weimaraner and Rottweiler. She
enjoys training and earning titles in Breed, Obedience and Rally. In
addition to having her own dogs shown in the breed ring, Carol loves
to attend dog shows in the area and support her friends showing in
the Group ring.
Terry
Lambert
has interests in many
aspects of dog sports. She trained her two Rottweilers in both
Obedience and Rally and earned CD and RE titles. She also
trains in Agility and Herding and shows in the breed ring, with an
interest in breeding her show dog.
Joan Janssen started out with
the club training her pet poodle Fozzie, earning a CD title. Then
she worked her sister's pet Mini Schnauzer Whitney, earning a Rally
Novice title. She has now started showing her Standard Poodle DUke
in UKC breed shows and is planning to train him in Rally and
Obedience.
